ILTA 2012 – Ready to Supercharge the Mind

I’m ready to get my mind supercharged at ILTA! I know that I find this conference the most intense on the planet. So if they can plug me in and charge me up, I’m all for it. This year’s conference kicks off this weekend – Sunday, Sunday, Sunday at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center, near Washington, D.C. and promises an intense line-up of sessions and exhibits, concluding Thursday, August 30th. They are breaking down the two hundred educational sessions into four distinct areas: Information Management; Organization Management; Applications/Desktop; and Technology Operations. The faculty is top notch including some legal technologists I have known and respected for many years. Among the respected keynote are Frans Johansson author of the bestselling, “The Medici Effect” and futurist Tom Koulopoulos. ILTA also offers an advanced educational track to really get you pumped up. There are also plenty of professional networking opportunities as well (that’s in-person, social, but not social if you know what I mean) – and you can’t forget that our nation’s capital offers many attractions to visit.

The ILTA app is worth downloading to make your scheduling far easier – that can be found in your app store or at this link.

Several vendors will be both demonstrating and presenting their products in demo rooms and in the exhibit hall. Don’t miss these great opportunities to see new and enhanced products up close and personal. Here’s an outline of some of the vendor activities/exhibits:

Biscom  – Booth #339

  1. Integration of fax and file transfer technologies to ensure in-depth security when sending faxes
  2. Secure Collaborative Workspace iPad app
  3. Integration of Biscom Secure File Transfer Outlook add-in with PayneGroup’s Outlook Send Assistant (OSA)

Biscom’s fax and file transfer technologies offer the industry’s most robust security for delivery of confidential client data.  However, when a fax arrives at its ultimate destination, whether sitting in a fax machine bin or arriving in someone’s inbox, the threat of data theft is still an issue. Now documents sent or received via Biscom fax can be delivered to its final destination as a Biscom Secure File Transfer delivery.  The documents and messages are encrypted on the Biscom Secure File Transfer server awaiting secure access by the intended recipient.

Earlier this year Biscom launched its Secure Workspace designed to offer an alternative to consumer- based file sharing services like DropBox.  Now, Biscom introduces an enhancement of its iPad app to support secure access of a Biscom Secure Workspace.  Workspace participants can now perform all of the Secure Workspace functions from their iPad, including uploading and downloading files and sharing comments with other workspace participants. All transfers are encrypted in transit and at rest on the iPad app and all activities are tracked in Biscom Secure File Transfer transaction logs.

The Biscom Secure File Transfer Outlook add-in is now integrated with PayneGroup’s Outlook Send Assistant (OSA) which is an e-mail security tool that warns or prevents accidental disclosure and sending of e-mails to unintended recipients.  OSA features include alerting users when sending to external recipients, Distribution Lists or using the BCC field.  Customized prompts will warn you when the “Reply All” button is used, as well as alert you that the e-mail message you are sending has a blank.  After the sender responds to OSA alerts the Biscom Outlook add-in will redirect the email as a secure delivery via  Biscom Secure File Transfer on demand or based on Biscom Outlook add-in policies.

Adaptive Intelligence simplifies the user experience by anticipating users’ next steps and allowing them to move to the right field, area or screen without a click. The algorithm also pushes best match information to the top of the screen, resulting in fewer keystrokes, less effort and more work accomplished in less time.

DocSolid – Booth 223

DocSolid, a leader in document scanning solutions for the legal market, expands into the corporate legal market with the addition of key new clients.  DocSolid’s enterprise scanning solution KwikTag Legal has been implemented in both Prudential and Barclays UK corporate legal departments. These new implementations underscore the fact that law departments are addressing the need to bring efficiency, cost savings and the right technology to improve internal scanning and paper management initiatives.

In addition, DocSolid’s partnership with Worldox has recently yielded 2 new clients for the company. The new client additions speak to the fact that mid-sized law firms are rapidly maturing in their use of document management systems (DMS), which amplifies the need to add integrated document scanning.  DocSolid is packaging its KwikTag Legal solution to fit the needs of these customers.  Recent Worldox-KwikTag Legal customers new clients include Edward M Bernstein & Associates and  Olinsky Law Group.
